  • ARRIVAL & CULTURAL IMMERSION (DAYS 1–2)

    Arrival: Step into Rio with a focus on community, connection, and shared experience from day one.


    Language & Culture: Build confidence navigating a new environment through introductory Portuguese and guided exploration of the city’s neighborhoods and markets.


    Connection: Kick off the journey with a shared immersive introduction to Brazil’s music and movement.

  • IDENTITY, COMMUNITY & ENGAGEMENT (DAYS 3–4)

    Understanding: Engage in meaningful conversations around Afro-Brazilian identity, culture, and the lived experiences that shape the city.


    Experience: Go beyond the surface through community-based experiences that reveal the depth, contrast, and complexity of Rio.


    Engagement: Collaborate, explore, and challenge yourself through interactive group experiences designed to build connection and confidence.

  • EXPLORATION, REFLECTION & CELEBRATION (DAYS 5–7)

    Exploration: Experience Rio’s natural beauty and vibrant energy through shared group activities and moments of discovery.


    Culture: Immerse yourself in the rhythm of the city through live music, dance, and cultural experiences.

  • No, the program fee does not include the flight. Participants book their flights independently, we are happy to consult you while purchasing your ticket to ensure you are booking correctly.

  • No, you are welcome to arrive and leave earlier and/or later than the dates listed above. In fact, many of our participants choose to stay additional time in-country to explore- we encourage it!

  • Currently enrolled university or college students or recent graduates from an accredited institution.

  • Free time is for participants to explore and discover on their own. We are happy to help you plan out your free day if you have questions.

  • World Walker organizes a minimum of three pre-departure where we provide professional development and community building activities for the cohort. Attendance is highly encouraged to maximize your experience.

  • World Walker is passionate about keeping our trips as affordable as possible. We work hard to provide financial assistance opportunities.
