Stack Yo Cho’s: A 10-Week Spring Break Savings Challenge

by Nia Franzua

As I prepare to travel with the World Walker Spring Break Cohort to Dubai, I want to share one of my pre-departure practices to help me have an amazing and stress-free time when I travel. That practice is following a savings challenge and Stacking my Cho’s!

My name is Nia Franzua, I’m the LifeStylist, and I’m gonna show ya’ll how to save $500 in 10 weeks just in time for our Spring Break trips to Dubai and Japan. I’m so excited for all of us to be trekking to our destinations and I am grateful for this opportunity by the World Walker Team.

Now, I don’t know about ya’ll, but I plan on doing some SERIOUS shopping when I’m in Dubai. After all, it’s the shopping capital of the World! So a savings challenge like this will be helpful if you plan on bringing some international souvenirs back with you. This will also generate some spending money to take on the trip.

Here’s how it works:
Put away each week’s amount, stay consistent, and stick to the challenge. Then, $tack Yo Cho’s and take the money you’ve saved on your trip! It’s that Simple!

Nia’s Note: Keep the challenge simple. Try not to mix up the weeks or do too much. If you want to increase or decrease your saving goal, you can adjust each week’s amount to reach it. I wouldn’t suggest saving multiple weeks at a time, though. A challenge like this is good for teaching you the simplicity of being consistent and patient.

I’m no financial advisor, but if you’re having difficulty saving the weekly amount, I recommend briefly cutting back on certain expenses and putting that money toward your trip. Fast food and coffee are the easiest and most practical expenses to cut back on. So, skip Starbucks for a few weeks and try to eat at home. Most importantly, have fun with it! Invite your friends to save with you and make it a thing!

Once you reach week 10 ( those last two weeks might be more challenging) take your cho’s and celebrate! It will pay off when you’re on the trip and you won’t have to worry about the cost of things 😀.

I hope you found this savings challenge helpful! If you want to learn more about saving and growing your money this year, follow @stackyochos on Instagram. I’ll see ya’ll in Dubai!
