RAMADAN STREET FOOD FESTIVAL
While traveling to Abu Dhabi and Dubai this year, we will be going during Ramadan. Ramadan is a period of atonement during the ninth month of the Muslim calendar. Muslims participate in a daily fast from food and drink from dawn to sunset and break their fast in a meal called iftar. Ramadan begins this year from February 28, 2025 to March 30, 2025.
In Dubai, there is a Ramadan Street Food Festival occurring from March 5th to March 22nd at Sheikh Hamdan Colony. You can explore at least 55 restaurants that are unique to Dubai and try international treats as well. There is an opportunity to watch live performances and participate in arts & crafts with painting pottery and creating misbaha prayer beads.
Entry is free and occurs from 5 pm-12 am on weekdays. During the daytime, it is important to not eat or drink in public to be respectful. You can still eat in restaurants and hotels.
Below I have linked the website where there is more information about the festival and you can visit Instagram and TikTok to see others' experience at the previous festivals.
